What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector II position at MW Components?
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Lead Inspector and ultimately the Quality Manager at Maryland Precision Spring, The Quality Inspector II is a senior level mechanical inspector with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the mechanical inspection of close tolerance metal components and is capable of performing job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide support to and operate under the supervision of the Lead Inspector as such support may include but is not limited to:
- Detailed, close tolerance Mechanical Inspection
- Develop inspection reports related to both in-process and final inspection activities
- Generate final quality document package for Aerospace and commercial orders
- Initial processing of nonconforming outputs including raw materials
- Perform other Quality/Inspection-related activities as
- Perform data entry and information retrieval in our ERP software system (Infor Visual).
- Ensure accurate record keeping of product verification
- Report any issues of concern to the Lead Inspector and other key
- Ability to effectively utilize hand-held and other specialized electronic and mechanical measuring devices such as:
- Micrometers (various types)
- Calipers
- Hardness Testers
- Load/Force Testers
- Micro Vu Excel 511 Visual CMM
- Various additional devices as required
Skills and Abilities:
- Highly skilled in the use of the above listed (and other) measuring
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize
- Knowledge of and ability to use ERP software (Infor Visual).
- Fundamental understanding of the activities and requirements of the Quality
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to support other Quality Department
- Proficient mathematical and problem-solving
- Ability to read and understand technical documents and
- Computer skills including the use of Microsoft office tools and the maintenance of records and
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED, plus 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing

Salary Range:
$24.00 - $26.00/Hour based on experience
