The role of the General Foreman is to execute small to medium-sized projects, leading strike teams of 3-12 crew members. This position is instrumental in guiding the job process across all aspects, including identifying change orders, tracking and managing time, and completing all necessary documentation associated with assigned tasks. The General Foreman ensures efficiency, safety, and productivity while maintaining high-quality standards in accordance with company policies and project requirements.

General Foreman Responsibilities:
Project Execution & Crew Leadership:
- Direct and oversee small to medium-sized project teams (3-12 personnel).
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
- Ensure crew members adhere to safety protocols, quality standards, and project specifications.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for field execution and workforce management.
Change Order Identification & Documentation:
- Identify potential change orders based on evolving job scope.
- Document and communicate changes to the project manager or relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure all change orders are accurately tracked and integrated into project execution.
Time Tracking & Data Management:
- Accurately record and manage crew work hours to ensure proper labor tracking.
- Approve timesheets and report any discrepancies to management.
- Allocate resources efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
- Complete all required project documentation, including job reports, safety forms, and inspection records.
- Maintain accurate records of job progress, material usage, and equipment logs.
Reporting & Data Management:
- Maintain daily job reports, including work progress, safety observations, and personnel activities.
- Ensure accurate documentation of material usage and equipment operation.
- Track and verify timekeeping records for payroll and job cost analysis.
- Provide status updates and reporting to management as required.
Safety & Compliance:
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company and industry safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety toolbox talks to reinforce job site safety practices.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, client safety policies, and company safety procedures.
- Promote a safety-first culture and lead by example in hazard recognition and risk mitigation.
- Report and document any safety incidents or near misses to onsite safety.
- Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards and project risks.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial construction, maintenance, or field supervision.

- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and field tracking software.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and P&IDs.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
