About the Role
MWH is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join and help lead our team in Austin, TX.
Essential Functions
- Lead and manage project engineering teams on our construction project(s).
- Ensure engineering deliverables are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with design specifications, codes, and client requirements.
- Oversee the preparation and review of construction submittals, RFIs and technical
- Collaborate with operations teams to align engineering activities with project goals and schedules.
- Provide technical support during construction, addressing design changes, challenges, and field issues as they arise.
- Facilitate seamless communication between engineering, operations, and subcontractors to resolve conflicts efficiently.
- Monitor engineering activities to ensure adherence to project timeliness and budgets.
- Work closely with project management and scheduling teams to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Support cost control efforts by reviewing engineering-related expenditures and recommending value-engineering solutions where appropriate.
- Mentor and develop junior engineering staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a key technical point of contact for clients, designers, and project stakeholders.
- Participate in client meetings to present progress, address concerns, and provide updates on engineering-related activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to support long-term partnerships.
