Position Overview:
The Commercial/Industrial Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of industrial and commercial construction practices, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams. Some travel may be required to visit project sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and scope to develop detailed cost estimates.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate costs for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project scopes and budgets.
- Solicit and review quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities to enhance cost efficiency.
- Present estimates to clients and management, providing clear justifications and recommendations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to support ongoing and future projects.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and value engineering as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an estimator in industrial and/or commercial construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, or equivalent).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving, mathematical, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
