The Security Associate is responsible for the successful operation of all security functions and programs and to ensure the safety and security of all members, guests, and employees, as well as safeguarding all company property and assets by exercising sound judgment, as well as providing optimum quality and service levels during assigned shift. Working hours for this position may vary, depending on the needs of the operation.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administrative:
- Calls for service in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Responsible for ensuring that all The Battery paperwork, forms, reports, daily logs, audits, surveys, inspections, guidelines, policies, procedures, etc., are properly and completely executed per security guidelines.
- Responsible for following company Lost and Found guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the audits of all locks, card keys, and hard keys when required.
- Responsible for making card keys, referring lock issues to engineering and for other related locking duties per The Battery guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain an effective working and professional relationship with all departments, management members, law enforcement, fire department and paramedic personnel.
- Responsible for accurately maintaining the security database programs per The Battery guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Responsible for keeping up to date and abreast all new guidelines, policies, procedures and developments related to The Battery, the security department, along with local, state and national security updates.
Patrol and other tasks:
- Responsible for successful operation of assigned shift.
- Acts with approval from Director of Security, but with full authority within his/her scope to ensure that all company safety and security guidelines, programs, policies, procedures and duties are adhered too.
- Responsible for effective communication with members, guests, management and employees.
- Responsible for routine property patrols and assignments, and ensure that your patrols and assignments are conducted per security department guidelines.
- Responsible for conducting a full pass down of detailed information to next security shift.
- Responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for all members, guest and employees.
- Respond to all calls for service and emergencies per security guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Handle all emergency situations when necessary along with the MOD. This may require administering CPR, AED and/or First Aid as needed to members, guests, or employees, while taking control of the situation.
- Share in the responsibility for the safe operation and care of security equipment.
- Follow all security, fire and safety protocols, standards, procedures, policies, procedures programs and regulations as outlined in The Battery materials.
- Must remain focused, alert, and attentive at all times on the job, restricting use of any personal cell phone, PDA, digital music devices, or other devices that may limit your focus and attention while working.
Must have and be able to do all of the following:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Minimum of a 2-year college degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of security experience required.
- Experience in the hospitality industry or involving a substantial amount of public contact within a campus style environment is desirable.
- Basic First Aid/CPR/AED training, along with valid training card.
- A valid California Proprietary Private Security Officer card or California Guard card upon hiring.
- Working knowledge of security and life safety systems is preferred.
- Maintain a high degree of integrity.
- Stamina to work up to 40 hours per week in full-time positions and able to have flexibility with scheduling.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Able to maneuver through all areas of the property.
- Heavy member/guest contact is required.
- Able to tolerate varying noise levels and illumination.

Hourly Pay: $22/hour
Schedule : Tuesday - Saturday 6:00am - 2:30 pm
