My Auto Store is looking for a dedicated and skilled 3rd Class Dismantler, preferably with a background in auto mechanics to join our team. In this role, you will support the dismantling of vehicles by performing essential hands-on tasks, under the supervision of senior technicians. This position is ideal for individuals with automotive experience who are looking to apply their expertise in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in basic dismantling tasks, including the removal of non-essential components and prepping vehicles for further disassembly.
Safely remove tires and batteries, ensuring proper handling and disposal.
Perform vehicle greening procedures, including extracting motor oil, transmission fluid, and antifreeze, and disposing of all fluids responsibly.
Utilize dry ice blasting techniques to clean vehicles and remove dirt, grime, and surface coatings.
Maintain and clean tools and equipment used during dismantling operations.
Adhere to safety guidelines, wearing the appropriate PPE to minimize risk of accidents.
Work closely with team members to optimize dismantling efficiency and productivity, offering support when needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
Solid background in automotive mechanics, repair, or salvage operations.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment.
Ability to perform physical tasks including frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED required.
Certification or training in automotive mechanics, auto body repair, or a related field is preferred.
Previous experience in automotive dismantling or related work is a plus.
Working Environment & Physical Demands:
This role involves working in a production environment with moving mechanical parts.
Exposure to various weather conditions, loud noise (ear protection required), and confined spaces.
The position requires long periods of standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Regular attendance is critical to ensure duties are completed in a timely manner.
