At present, we conduct testing for Covid, RSV, and Influenza A/B, Wellness and we have plans to introduce drug and cancer testing in 2023. Function:
We are looking for self-motivated individuals to be client-facing to help run our COVID testing clinics. The ideal candidate should be adaptable with excellent customer service skills and clinical acumen to collect nasal/mouth swabs for COVID testing and log specimens once completed. This candidate will collaborate closely with their site supervisor to ensure the site runs efficiently and safely.
Position Overview: The Phlebotomist will be responsible for performing venipuncture, specimen collection, and other related duties in various healthcare settings. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and exceptional patient interaction skills.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct venipuncture and collect blood specimens adhering to established procedures and safety protocols.
- Label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, ensuring accuracy and proper handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of biohazard materials and adherence to infection control measures.
- Interact with patients in a courteous and empathetic manner, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience during specimen collection.
- Verify patient information, confirm the accuracy of requisitions, and document collected specimens accurately.
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and other team members to ensure efficient specimen collection and processing.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
- Current certification as a Phlebotomist in the state of California.
- Proven experience as a Phlebotomist in a clinical or healthcare setting, preferably in California.
- Proficient knowledge of venipuncture techniques and best practices in specimen collection.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with laboratory information systems is preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
