Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with a focus on tax preparation, financial reporting, and compliance. This role requires excellent analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure accurate financial management.
Duties
- Prepare and review tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct thorough account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation and account reconciliation.
- Generate detailed financial reports, providing insights into financial performance and trends.
- Utilize accounting software and Excel for data analysis, reporting, and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements in financial reporting processes.
- Assist with the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program accounting as needed.
- Stay updated on securities law regulations affecting financial practices and reporting.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is required.
- Proven experience in tax preparation and accounting roles.
- Strong understanding of debits and credits along with general accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software applications and advanced Excel skills for data manipulation and analysis.
- Excellent written communication skills for effective financial report writing.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
