Summary:
The Training Specialist conducts new hire training and assists with the implementation of the training plan for all teller staff. This position is also responsible for the enforcement and implementation of the training plan for all newly hired and newly promoted lead teller staff; maintenance of all teller training manuals, and employee operating/procedure manuals.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Under guidance of the Learning and Development Manager, conducts new employee and initial training for all new hires. In conjunction with Human Resources, develops and ensures adherence to the initial 90-day onboarding process.
- Presents teller and lead teller training programs that effectively reflect the credit union's Higher Purpose Statement, support the High Five Guiding Principles, and meet specific departmental training objectives, as assigned by Learning and Development Manager.
- Under guidance of the Learning and Development Manager, organizes, develops, and maintains training manuals, job aids, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials, as it relates to tellers.
- Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to obtain information useful for designing effective training programs; integrates information into programs; informs management of technical training programs and goals.
- Keeps informed on new developments, methods, and techniques in the training field. Stays current on training topics relevant to tellers and lead tellers.
- Assists with the implementation of the "Service Culture" by attending Credit Union sponsored community events and assisting with community outreach.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Designs and delivers effective, accurate, and consistent training and orientation programs. Modifies programs, as necessary.
- Relates well with all staff regardless of rank or position; exhibits excellent interpersonal skills in communicating orally to all staff; writes clearly, concisely, and correctly in communicating all information.
- Demonstrates leadership and sets an example as a role model for other employees to follow.
- Delivers customized training and orientation programs that have been thoroughly developed.
Knowledge and Skills:

Experience
- Two years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education
- Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED

Skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, internet, and data-base management
- Ability to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, and the public.
- Ability to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
- Ability to apply learning and training principles in a variety of situations and know how to evaluate training results to identify and provide necessary follow-up to specified individuals.
- Is highly organized; effectively prioritizes tasks to ensure their timely completion.
Physical Requirements:
- Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. This includes but may not be limited to keyboarding, writing, and filing.
- Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods.
- Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 75 pounds for various needs.
- The person in this position constantly communicates in person and in writing with members, managers, and colleagues. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- The ability to observe details at close range to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
Standard MCCU hours of operation: Monday-Thursday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
