MyExistingFloorPlans is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Technician to join our team, specializing in 3D laser scanning using the Leica RTC 360. As a "Field Techician” you’ll be responsible for operating cutting-edge scanning technology to capture high-quality 3D data at various job sites. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on fieldwork, has a keen eye for detail, and thrives in dynamic outdoor environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain the Leica RTC 360 laser scanner to collect accurate spatial data at client sites.
- Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot scanning equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform on-site data collection, including point cloud generation, in diverse conditions
- Collaborate with project managers and data processing teams to ensure data meets project specifications.
- Safely transport and handle equipment to and from job sites.
- Document field activities, including site conditions and scan details, for reporting purposes.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company standards during all field operations.
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience with 3D laser scanning equipment (Leica RTC 360 or similar preferred).
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment in the field.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
- Basic understanding of point cloud data and 3D modeling concepts.
Preferred:
- 1 years of experience in surveying, geomatics, or a related field.
- Familiarity with software such as Leica Cyclone, Leica Register 360, Autodesk Recap, or other point cloud processing tools.
- Certification or training in laser scanning or geospatial technologies.

- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in the field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing site conditions.
- Physical ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
