Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will support laboratory operations by performing various tasks related to specimen collection, processing, and patient care. This role is essential in ensuring that laboratory procedures are conducted efficiently and accurately, contributing to the overall quality of patient service.
Duties
- Assist in the collection and processing of specimens, including blood sampling and other laboratory tests.
- Prepare and label samples for analysis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with laboratory protocols.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring all tools are clean, functional, and readily available.
- Support laboratory staff by organizing and managing patient records and test results.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Provide excellent patient care by assisting patients during specimen collection procedures and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Collaborate with medical professionals to ensure timely processing of specimens and accurate reporting of results.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology is preferred.
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory environment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow precise instructions.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare staff.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
