The Agency for Health Care Administration is Florida's chief health policy and planning entity. The Agency is responsible for administering the Florida Medicaid program, the licensure and regulation of nearly 50,000 health care facilities, and empowering consumers through health care transparency initiatives.

POSITION OVERVIEW :

This is a career service position budgeted to work 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The position is anticipated to be filled at the rate of $649.23 bi-weekly and is non-negotiable.

The Florida Medicaid program is one of the top five largest in the country and has an estimated $28 billion annual budget. Each month, Florida Medicaid covers medical services for almost 4 million recipients.

To most effectively serve this large patient population, one of the Agency goals is to ensure fewer budgeted dollars are lost to fraud, abuse, and waste.

MPI does this specifically through audits and investigations of healthcare providers suspected of engaging in fraudulent or abusive behavior, as well as overpayment recoveries, administrative sanctions, and the referral of suspected fraud or other criminal activities for law enforcement investigation.

The selected candidate will report to the Program Administrator and will serve as a backup to the other team members within the Bureau.

The candidate will be responsible for a broad range of administrative activities and will be cross trained to support operations and other personnel throughout the bureau.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Assist with project coordination.
  • Update Excel spreadsheets and Visio documents such as organizational charts, COOP, and telephone list.
  • Review, sort, and distribute mail.
  • Assist Bureau with administrative actions such as mailouts, making copies, and assist with receipt of records.
  • Assist with inventory and managing supplies.
  • Ensure copiers are functioning properly.
  • Backup to other Administrative Assistants for all units to help coordinate and provide support.
  • Assist MPI staff with STMS and Works, ensuring travel and Pcard charges are submitted timely.
  • Provide assistance and act as the coordinator between MPI and the STMS and Works Administrator.
  • Coordinate new Pcard Requests.
  • Serve as the backup for the Purchasing Agent, processing actions in My Florida Market Place.
  • Assist HR Liaison with processes to hire, onboarding, requests to advertise, and maintaining files.
