Meat Wrapper/Apprentice

• Wrap and package all meat products in a tight, clean, and attractive manner.
• Maintain correct weekly prices and accurately weigh and label meat products.
• Provide pleasant and efficient customer service and assist customers with purchasing decisions.
• Maintain all wrapping equipment, tools, cooler, cases and all other areas as designated.
• Assure the quality and appearance of meat items are maintained.
• Stock and display all meat products, using the merchandising aids or techniques selected by the Meat Department Manager.
• Maintain a high level of productivity.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary

As a Meat Wrapper, you will be essential in ensuring the quality and presentation of meat products for our customers. Reporting to the Meat Department Manager, your core skills in customer service and food handling will be vital as you assist customers and maintain a clean workspace. Utilizing your premium skills in food preparation and time management, you will efficiently wrap and label products while collaborating with team members. Your relevant experience in the food industry and basic math will support our commitment to delivering fresh, high-quality meat to our valued customers.

We are looking for someone interested in assisting a skilled butcher in a grocery store, restaurant, or specialty meat shop by learning how to properly break down carcasses, trim meat cuts, package products, maintain sanitation standards, and operate butchering equipment under supervision, with the goal of eventually becoming a fully qualified meat cutter.
