Job Summary
The Gym Director will oversee the daily operations of My Gym, ensuring exceptional service for children and their families. This leadership role requires a blend of business management, team leadership, and customer service skills. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with a passion for childhood development and a strong desire to cultivate a vibrant community of families.
Responsibilities
- Work Schedule: 36-40 hours per week, including at least one weekend day
- Operational Oversight: Manage daily operations of the center, including lead follow up, staff supervision/training, and facility maintenance
- Top Quality Classes: Inspire the staff by teaching classes that keep children engaged and excited to come each week
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with families to ensure their satisfaction and engagement
- Strategic Development: Create and implement strategies to boost enrollment and retain currently-enrolled families
- Safety and Cleanliness: Ensure an impeccably clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff
Qualifications
- Childcare Experience: Proven experience working with young children in an organized play environment
- Performance Experience: Must be comfortable singing, dancing, and generally leading by example and having a great time while teaching classes
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership or management experience, with the ability to motivate and guide a team
- Team-Oriented: Strong willingness to collaborate as a team player and contribute to a positive work environment
- Effective Communication: Excellent communication skills to engage clearly with staff and guests
- Physical Requirements: Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Endurance: Capacity to stand for extended periods (up to 6 hours) while fulfilling job responsibilities

My Gym SW Portland is currently under construction with a projected summer opening. Until this new location is open you'll be training and working at My Gym Sherwood, which has the same owner.
