We are seeking a skilled and compassionate **PRN Mobile Phlebotomist** to join our team. As a mobile phlebotomist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality blood collection services at patient residences or other designated locations. You must be able to work independently, demonstrate professionalism, and provide excellent patient care in a variety of environments.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Perform venipunctures and capillary collections for lab testing in mobile and home settings.
- Ensure all patient information is accurately recorded and confidential.
- Collect specimens and properly label, handle, and store them in accordance with company and laboratory guidelines.
- Provide patient education regarding the procedure and ensure their comfort throughout the collection process.
- Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory standards, including HIPAA guidelines.
- Handle any complications, such as fainting or bruising, with appropriate medical procedures.
- Coordinate with lab services to ensure timely and accurate processing of collected specimens.
- Travel to various locations as needed, ensuring all necessary equipment is brought to appointments.
- Maintain mobile equipment and ensure it is in working order, replenishing supplies as necessary.
- Respond promptly and professionally to any changes in scheduling or patient needs.
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Previous experience as a phlebotomist or in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to patient locations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide compassionate patient care.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, adhering to protocols and guidelines.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple appointments in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and standard safety procedures for blood collection.
- Basic computer skills to document and submit patient information and specimen details.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 25 lbs) to and from patient locations.
- Comfort working in various environments, including homes and healthcare facilities.
