Technology ICT/LV Systems Sr Designer
Job Description
Our client is seeking a Technology Systems Senior Designer to join our Lakewood Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing low voltage systems, including access control, video surveillance, audio/visual, and telecommunication systems.
They will have experience in both design and project management, with a strong understanding of the latest technology and trends in low voltage systems.
Main Responsibilities:
Design and implement low voltage systems for various projects, including access control, audio/visual, and telecommunication systems
Create detailed plans, drawings, and specifications for low voltage systems using industry-standard software like Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, owners, and other stakeholders to ensure that low voltage systems meet project requirements.
Preparing program requirements and basis of design reports
Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure that low voltage systems are installed correctly and meet project timelines
Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients.
Preparing agendas, running design/coordination meetings and providing minutes
Preparing construction documentation, including drawings and specifications
Review and approve shop drawings and product data submittals and responding to RFIs
Field coordination of installation work including reviewing and analyzing test results
Systems coordination, specification writing, Revit/drafting, field work, product research, and responding to client questions
Managing resources in the development of construction documents
Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure that low voltage systems are functioning properly and meeting project requirements
Serving as a technical resource for others throughout the firm, providing thought leadership and subject matter expertise Minimum Qualifications:
3 years' experience as a consultant and designer for projects
Knowledge of various Technology systems design and implementation
Thorough knowledge of telecommunications cabling and infrastructure design and implementation including knowledge of industry standards including BICSI, IEEE and TIA/EIA
A working understanding of the standard project delivery models
Must be proactive and have excellent time management skills and be capable of working independently - conscientious and flexible, with a strong work ethic and team-player attitude in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work well under strict deadlines, interface effectively with management, handle multiple requests with an eye for detail and a strong commitment to quality
Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Revit, Bluebeam and AutoCAD required
Applied knowledge of digital media delivery technologies, audio/visual, security systems, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and television distribution
Applied knowledge of nurse call, intercom, public address and overhead paging
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Previous experience working in an Architecture/Engineering consulting firm
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years experience as a consultant or Project Manager/Designer in an technology consulting firm working on health care projects
RCDD certification
PMP certification
Knowledge of various Information Systems from design to implementation
Skilled in the standard project delivery models (Design Build, IPD, Design Build)
Must be proactive and have excellent time management skills and be capable of working independently, conscientious and flexible, with a strong work ethic and team-player attitude in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work well under multiple strict deadlines, interface effectively with management, handle multiple requests with an eye for detail and a strong commitment to quality
Design level knowledge of structured cabling, Audio/Visual systems, and security systems
Design level knowledge of nurse call, intercom, and overhead paging systems.
