Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Driver to provide safe and timely transportation services exclusively for children attending My Kid Therapy Center. This vital role plays a crucial part in ensuring these children can access the therapy they need. The Driver will be responsible for transporting children to and from the center, their homes, schools, and other designated locations, while maintaining a safe, positive, and supportive environment. This position requires a deep understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of children with special needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Transport children to and from My Kid Therapy Center, their homes, and other designated locations as scheduled.
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle.
- Assist children with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including those using mobility devices (e.g., wheelchairs, walkers) if needed.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers during transport.
- Communicate effectively with attendants, and center staff regarding scheduling, delays, or any other relevant information.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, trips, and any incidents that may occur.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality and safety.
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding when interacting with children with special needs.
- Report any concerns regarding a child's well-being to the appropriate staff members.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all client information.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Adhere to assigned routes and schedules but be flexible to accommodate changes as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. (Must provide a copy of driving record)
- Experience working with children, preferably children with special needs, is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR is preferred (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Ability to assist children with mobility devices if needed.
- Must be comfortable using GPS and other navigation tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check.
- Must be willing to undergo 10 panel drug screening.
