Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in the subject area(s) of expertise, such as Math or Physical Education
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for students
- Assess student progress and provide feedback on their performance
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop curriculum and instructional materials
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and any concerns
- Provide tutoring or additional support to students who need it
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in the classroom or daycare setting
- Follow child welfare guidelines and protocols
Skills:
- Strong knowledge and expertise in the subject area(s) being taught, such as Math or Physical Education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a nurturing learning environment for students
- Strong organizational skills to effectively plan lessons, manage student records, and meet deadlines
- Adaptability to accommodate different learning styles and abilities of students
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
