Position Summary:
We seek a compassionate and experienced Special Education Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will work one-on-one and in small group settings with children experiencing learning difficulties, using evidence-based techniques tailored to individual needs. You’ll provide intervention and support across various environments to build students’ academic, social, and emotional skills, collaborating with other professionals to create a holistic approach to each child’s success.
We will provide you with training, supervision, and support in your role.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver interventions children with diverse learning needs.
- Deliver targeted instruction and interventions in individual and small group sessions, both in-home, at school, and at our center.
- Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies to support children with academic, social, and behavioral goals.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed to ensure measurable growth.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members, including speech-language pathologists, counselors, and occupational therapists.
- Provide guidance and support to parents, caregivers, and teachers to enhance learning strategies outside of direct sessions.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Education, or related field.
- Experience working with children with learning challenges, including ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other specific learning disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of individualized teaching strategies and behavioral management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
- Flexibility to work across multiple settings and adapt to each child’s unique needs.
