We are looking for a Remote Oversized Load Permit Specialist to join our team and lead the development of our newly established Permit Department. As the first hire in this division, you will play a crucial role in securing oversized and overweight load permits, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and training future team members.

Key Responsibilities
As the first Oversized Load Permit Specialist, you will be responsible for:
Permit Processing & Compliance
✔ Obtain permits for oversized and overweight loads via phone, email, fax, and online systems.
✔ Ensure compliance with state and local DOT regulations for oversized loads.
✔ Verify routes to confirm they meet safety and legal requirements.
Customer & Regulatory Coordination
✔ Communicate with state and local DOT offices to secure accurate and timely permits.
✔ Work with customers to confirm routing details and resolve permit-related issues.
✔ Provide clients with required documentation, including insurance certificates and hauler forms, to prevent delays.
Logistics & Operations Support
✔ Coordinate pilot car escorts with the dispatch team when necessary.
✔ Track permit costs per load to ensure profitability and operational efficiency.
✔ Assist team members with permit estimates, routing details, and customer inquiries.
Leadership & Growth
✔ Maintain accurate records of permit requests, approvals, and customer interactions.
✔ Develop training materials and mentor at least three future employees in oversized load permitting.
✔ Promote our pilot car and permit services to existing and new customers.
✔ Conduct on-site visits as needed to strengthen client relationships and drive business growth.
What We’re Looking For
✔ 5 years of experience in oversized load permitting, dispatching, logistics, or a related field.
✔ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
✔ Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced remote environment.
✔ Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) with a professional demeanor.
✔ Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused mindset.
✔ Adaptability and a team-oriented attitude.
✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM systems (permit management software experience is a plus).
✔ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
✔ Experience with a permit service agency is highly desirable.
Compensation & Employment Details
💰 Hourly Rate: $25/hour (negotiable based on experience).
📍 Full-Time, Remote Position (Work from home).
