Who We Want
The Business Development Manager will be the conduit through which employment partners and HIPsters find successful employment relationships. This role will lead the eMPloy Network, a network of employers who are creating inclusive workplaces for people with disabilities. In this position, you would connect with new and existing employers to drive employment outcomes for our HIPsters. The position requires excellent volunteer management skills that are driven by effective and professional interpersonal skills. The ability to create, manage, and grow meaningful long-term professional relationships is a must. The position requires a highly-motivated self-starter who is a fearless networker and connector. The individual must have a track record of proven business development/sales growth and accomplishment. Success factors include a passion for serving our mission, a desire to guide the community in inclusion efforts, and the ability to bring people together for a common goal.
How You Can Add Value
The position supports high-level work at My Possibilities. The Business Development Manager is the face for community employment for people with IDD. This manager coordinates regular eMPloy Network meetings and supports their efforts toward becoming an inclusive workplace. Maintaining confidentiality in all matters is expected. This role interacts with the entire organization on a daily basis and will be a key contributor to building a welcoming and inclusive environment for HIPsters and their community supports.
Essential Functions
- Develop and maintain relationships with businesses across DFW
- Recruit new members to the eMPloy Network
- Lead regular meetings of the eMPloy Network
- Lead, engage, and manage all aspects of the eMPloy Network Leadership Committee
- Track and acknowledge engagement levels of members
- Organize and/or lead disability-related training for employers
- Collaborate with other Vocational Services teams to connect HIPsters with training or employment opportunities
- Collaborate across departments to develop and protect community relationships
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, or related field
- 3 years in business development or business to business sales
- Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and valid car insurance required
Preferred Qualifications
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Able to represent themselves and the organization professionally to community partners at all levels of their business
- Commitment to task, follow-through, and delivering on deadline, a must
- Familiarity with IDD preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft suite, including MS Teams
Working Conditions
- Hybrid position with emphasis on presence and engagement in the DFW community
- Frequent local day travel in your personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement
- Frequent sitting, computer use, and meetings
- Some standing and walking on company tours
