What You Will Be Doing
The Director of Vocational Services role serves as a leadership team member and actively participates in making strategic decisions affecting the My Possibilities’ Employment Innovation School Program. In partnership with the Chief People Officer, you are responsible for establishing a strategic vision and guiding philosophy that will inform short- and long-term programming goals, drive new programs, and carefully monitor the progress toward those efforts.
Essential Functions
- Work with other members of the leadership team and direct reports to advance MP’s mission, vision, and values, set strategic goals, and support implementation through Directors.
- Create and support a high-performing culture in the EIS department.
- Develop a team-based environment to motivate and inspire staff to work collaboratively toward achieving our goals by clearly communicating our vision, implementing staff development plans, and mentoring.
- Oversee the coordination, integration, and delivery of the EIS program.
- Develop policies and procedures aligning service delivery with the requirements of government contracts, grants, foundations, private pay, or as otherwise required by the organization.
- Oversee the EIS staff and support them in their job responsibilities
- Review other programs (state and nationally) to support improved systems such as documentation, data collection, and best practice implementation.
- Develop an assessment protocol to determine the feasibility and sustainability of programs and lead to more effective and efficient service delivery.
- Analyze and assess the program based on data collected and implement corrective measures if required.
- Manage the program budget to ensure the appropriate allocation of program funding.
- Build external relationships, collaborations, and partnerships with other organizations to broaden services. Identify potential new relationship targets.
- Manage and prioritize relationships with key partner organizations.
- Support fundraising efforts through relationship building, site visits, program presentations, and events
Qualifications
- A minimum of five years of leadership experience in a nonprofit, government, or philanthropy, overseeing a program or contracts, ideally at an organization serving persons with disabilities
- Passion for MP's mission and purpose and an ability to communicate this passion to others
- Demonstrated experience managing a high-performing team
- Comprehensive working knowledge of program planning, budgeting, and administrative operations
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to represent the organization externally across a wide range of stakeholders and constituencies
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is required
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion; experience implementing the principles in program areas and creating an inclusive work environment
Working Conditions
This position will be based within the My Possibilities campus but will be required to attend meetings at different venues and the occasional emergency visit to the hospital.
