Who we want
The goal of the Vocational Program Manager is to supervise the Vocational Program team that oversees our Pre-vocational, General Vocational, and Vocational Track courses, to ensure a full learning experience for all HIPsters. The goal is to offer leadership and guidance to the Vocational Program team, offering the support needed to carry out all courses. This will include training and guidance as needed for Vocational Program staff. The Vocational Program Manager will work with classroom instructors to ensure the implementation of the curriculum and program components.
Essential Functions:
• Supervise and manage Vocational Program staff.
• Implement Vocational Training Program curriculum.
• Work with Vocational Program staff to develop program components for classroom and community-based instruction.
• Routinely monitor program content effectiveness, which will include classroom observation.
• Ensure all classrooms have adequate learning materials and resources.
• Ensure the implementation of positive behavior strategies agreed upon during regular information exchanges between therapy staff, HIPster Services, and the Vocational Program staff.
• Collaborate with the Curriculum Manager to refine already-created lesson plans for specific skills and knowledge and devise measurement tools to be used to track progress.
• Lead information exchanges to provide staff development on HIPster-specific issues, program improvements, implementation of new strategies, and other relevant topics.
• Assist HIPster Services when making HIPsters schedules or determining the right path/program for the HIPsters.
• Understand the ongoing needs of our corporate partners to make sure our curriculum is in line with the end goal for the HIPsters.
• Meet regularly with Lifelong Learning leadership to collaborate on services and strategic plans. Competencies (Knowledge, skills, and abilities):
• Experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
• Understanding of and experience with various approaches to teaching and instruction
• Understands instruction methods including curriculum and the implementation of lesson plans.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to use Microsoft Office Suite for reports, documentation and billing purposes.
• Proficient in Google Drive.
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, General Education or Social Services
Experience:
• 4-6 years' experience in a teaching environment
• Leadership/Management experience
• Curriculum design experience, preferred
• Specialized Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, etc.:
• Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and valid car insurance required.
• Must be able to clear a background check with no related offenses jeopardizing the integrity of our program.
• Must be able to get certified in CPR/First Aid and non-violent crisis intervention within state-mandated timelines.

Working Conditions:
• This position will be required to Sit, stand, and bend throughout the day
• Occasionally lift to 50 lbs.
