Candidates must have experience building custom equipment from engineering documents NOT work procedures. Not looking for folks super late in their career. Look for early to mid level people.
"We are looking for more specific experience in building equipment that was custom designed. Basically being built for the first time from an inhouse design off of mech and electrical prints. Of note, I get a little nervous when I see multiple jobs that last a year or under, understanding sometimes there are explainable reasons. If so some background is appreciated."
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Automated Systems & Robotics, or equivalent preferred
- Hands-on experience with power and hand tools, specialized tooling, machine building, mechanics, and electronics
- Ability to read electrical and pneumatic/hydraulic instrumentation & wiring schematics
- Hold effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Work well both individually and in teams
- Able to travel by air or car (estimated 10% max.)
- US citizen or authorization to work permanently for any Employer in the United States
Job Duties:
- Utilize 2D and 3D mechanical drawings and CAD to complete mechanical assembly of custom equipment. Types of mechanisms include:
- Pneumatic cylinders and grippers with position sensing
- Servomotor driven linear actuators, belt driven or ball screw driven
- Dieset assemblies with guide posts and bearings
- Plate & fixture assemblies with dowel pin alignment
- Machine vision stations with cameras, lenses, filters, lighting
- Linear guided motion, linear rails
- x/y/z gantry systems
- Belt conveyor systems
- Magnetic, photoelectric, fiberoptic, laser sensors
- Utilize hand and small power tools to add appropriate cutouts in electrical enclosures for incoming power cable, HMIs, wire pass-thrus, fans/accessories, etc.
- Read and understand electrical & pneumatic schematics to complete
- Electrical panel component layout, assembly, wiring, and labeling.
- Pneumatic valve bank assembly, wiring, and labeling
- o Field wiring, tube routing, and labeling for all required field devices (motors, air cylinders, sensors, cameras, etc.)
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
