Job Summary: All employees are dedicated to Safety, Safety is job 1. The Solar Installer is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on rooftops or other structures. This role ensures that solar panels are installed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and local codes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Assessment: Evaluate installation sites to determine suitability and optimal panel placement, considering factors such as roof condition, angle, and exposure to sunlight.
- Installation: Assemble and install solar panels, modules, and support structures according to design specifications and safety protocols.
- Electrical Wiring: Connect PV systems to the building's electrical supply, ensuring proper grounding and adherence to electrical codes.
- System Testing: Conduct tests to confirm the functionality and performance of installed systems, identifying and resolving any issues.
- Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance of solar systems, troubleshooting and repairing as necessary to maintain optimal performance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices, including the use of personal protective equipment and fall protection systems.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electrical systems or renewable energy is preferred.๎
- Experience: Prior experience in solar installation, electrical work, or roofing is advantageous.
- **Skills:**
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Understanding of electrical wiring and PV systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Certifications: Certification from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods.
