What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Advocate position at My Time Recovery?

Shift times: 12:30-9pm M, TH ,FRI & 8:00am-4:30pm SAT ,SUN.
Position Overview
A Recovery Advocate will be available to serve as a role model and assist with transportation and monitoring of MTR outpatient clients living in a sober living environment. A Recovery Advocate may also be asked to perform similar support type functions with residential clients. The Recovery Advocate reports to the Client Advocate.
Duties:
- Transport MTR outpatient clients to and from recovery meetings, appointments and MTR groups and activities.
- Serve as a role model for MTR clients, providing nonclinical encouragement and assistance in managing their daily lives, including but not limited to arranging for meals.
- Communicate with outpatient treatment staff regarding observations or concerns regarding MTR outpatient clients.
- Assist in diverting clients leaving against clinical advice
- Meet with the client and assist them in resolving immediate barriers that would result in relapse or ACA
- Shops and does meal prep for clients as needed.
- Coordinates with others to provide highest level of care
- Completes Drug Screens and label them to selected company lab to help the clinical team.
- Attends staff meetings
- Similar duties may be required to assist with inpatient clients.
- If assigned duties which require documentation, will follow training to properly document in clients Electronic Health Records (EHR) per the APA ethical codes, organization policies, state and federal regulations, and The Joint Commission standards

- Able to drive safely.
- Able to be on time and organized.
- Able to build rapport with clients in recovery
- Able to do data entry
- Able to obey HIPAA
- Abide by ethical codes of the APA and CCAPP
Qualifications
Recovery Advocates must have the following:
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification on file. MTR will provide.
- Current TB skin test and health screen report. MTR will provide.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driver per our insurance.
Knowledge
- Twelve Step Recovery Program is helpful but not mandatory
- Data Entry
- Signs and symptoms of alcohol and other drug intoxication and withdrawal helpful, but not mandatory.
