The Community Based Contract Compliance Auditor will be part of a regional team that provides on-site monitoring and reviews of DCS community based contracted provider businesses.
Must Have Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a Finance-Related Field, or at least 4 years of experience in audit or investigations – Required.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with state agencies, community programs, and colleagues – Required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams) – Required (2 years).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines – Required (2 years).
- Prior experience in formulating and implementing audit corrective action plans – Required (2 years).
- Strong knowledge of applicable state laws, policies, service standards, and procedures – Required (2 years).
- Experience as a billing auditor in a State or Federal Agency – Required (2 years).
Job Summary:
The Compliance Auditor will be part of a regional team that conducts on-site audits and reviews for DCS community-based contracted provider businesses. The role involves ensuring that billing is accurate and that services provided adhere to regulations, policies, and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct community-based audits across regions 8, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18, covering the bottom half of Indiana.
- Evaluate DCS services and billing practices to identify errors and ensure compliance.
- Educate and recommend corrective actions when errors are identified.
- Collaborate with a statewide team, participating in weekly team meetings, monthly division meetings, and quarterly in-person meetings in Marion County (Central Office).
- Travel frequently (up to twice a week) within the regions for audits and reviews, and travel four times a year to Central Office.
- Suggest improvements to team processes and ensure compliance with state laws, policies, service standards, and procedures.
- Participate in training to stay updated on relevant practices and responsibilities
Travel Requirements:
- The position requires frequent travel, including:
- Travel to DCS provider locations across regions 8, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18. Travel to DCS provider locations within the regions is required.
- Four times a year the auditor will be required to travel to Central Office in Marion County to participate in a Division meeting.
