Job Summary:
Assists in the management of the daily financial activities of an organization, including general ledger and accounts payable and receivable; produces financial reports, prepares annual budget, manages payroll, manages company 401(k) plan and company insurance policies, maintains capital lease schedules and prepares the related annual data for tax returns, in addition to performs various analyses. Be the resident expert in NetSuite; have substantial experience in the creation and customization of reports, searches, and custom financial reports as well as the Advanced Budgeting and Financial Reporting modules.
Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Public accounting experience strongly preferred
Advanced working knowledge of NetSuite REQUIRED (budgets, M/E close, financial reporting, admin role, custom reports, searches, etc.); system implementation experience a plus
Familiarity with different entity types & related tax consequences (S-Corp & LLC)
Experience with owner distributions from corporations and LLC’s
Solid knowledge of accounting principles, theory, practices, and standards
6 years related work experience
CPA license preferred
Experience as Assistant Controller or higher position
Demonstrated ability to proactively oversee the finance function and drive processes
Effective management of financial resources
Experience in preparation of budgets
Prior experience and knowledge of capital lease financing
Strong background in ACH and purchasing card payments
Strong experience with complicated bank reconciliations
Experience managing payroll: processing; JE’s; adding new employees; updating for terminations; employee cost allocations; Paylocity experience a plus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements
Maintain primary ownership over the general ledger across all balance sheet and income statement accounts
Monitor, review, and verify accounting records and transactions for accuracy, timeliness, and adequacy of supporting documentation
Record monthly general journal entries
Ensure compliance with internal policies, agency rules and regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles
Prepare account reconciliations and perform variance analysis
Daily cash monitoring/management and ensure funds availability
Maintain strong internal controls
Compile information needed for tax return preparation by outside CPA firm; reconcile book to tax differences & perform retained earnings roll-forward
Quarterly estimated tax payments for corporation and owners
Calculate annual distributions to owners and execute distribution transactions
Manage bi-monthly payroll runs and maintenance of employee information in Paylocity
Manage 401(k): annual & quarterly notices as required; amendment preparation; annual 5500 filings
Lead annual health benefits renewal; calculate employee premiums and update payroll withholdings; annual Form 720 filings
Prepare and file sales tax returns for multiple states
Preparation of monthly reconciliation of sales tax payable to GL account
Annual insurance policy renewals and audits
Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
Prepare and file annual business personal property tax returns
Monitor aged A/P and aged A/R schedules and follow-up
Work closely with the operations team to troubleshoot cross-functional issues
Recognize and articulate opportunities to improve processes
Provide timely, problem-solving responses to customer issues that escalate to your desk
Clarify or research issues as necessary
Positively represent the organization in interactions with customers’ key personnel
Maintain confidentiality of organizational and customer information
