Job Summary:
The Grant Development Specialist is dedicated to the Center's mission to provide quality health care to all people without prejudice, in a caring manner, regardless of their ability to pay, and is responsible for identifying private and government funding to support the Center's mission. This position supports the Center's vision to be the leader in providing quality services and programs that meet or exceed the expectations of our customers.
The Grant Development Specialist assists the Chief Administrative Officer in managing private and government grant applications.
This position secures new and manages existing grants, which includes performing all data research, collaborating with program and finance staff, preparing proposals, and submitting required grants and reports. This position collaborates with program finance staff to ensure projects are appropriately represented and accounted for in the grant process. The lead grant development specialist tracks and reports progress on grant outcomes, both project and financial. The lead grant development specialist supports other grant specialists in preparing.
This position must be detail oriented, demonstrate superior writing skills, and exhibit excellent initiative and accountability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares and submits grant proposals; including writing and editing private and government grant proposals, conducting research for data needs, collaborating with staff as needed for supporting information, and gathering attachments required for proposals
- Prepares periodic and final narrative reports and other documentation as required for the program by using a grant tracking tool to monitor project deadlines and ensure reports are submitted in a timely manner
- Identifies new grant opportunities to support MyCHN's strategic initiatives
- Collaborates with program and financial departments on grant projects to ensure successful outcomes by providing support throughout the project's lifecycle, including planning and evaluating
- Supports other grant writers in the Development Department to prepare and submit grant proposals and reports
- Assists with the Patient Satisfaction survey process as part of CQI process
- Prepares other narrative documents in collaboration with the CAO, including the Annual Needs Assessment and Annual Report by conducting research, collecting health data, and assisting with preparing narrative as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Administrative Officer

Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Documented background in grant writing
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Experience with SAMHSA grants
