MyCHN is a nonprofit organization providing Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, and Pharmacy services to communities in the South Houston and Gulf Coast area. We were founded in 2008 with one provider, three exam rooms and a big dream. Today, we have over 100 providers and more than 15 locations. Job Summary:
The Outreach Coordinator provides support to the organization and Outreach and Enrollment Specialists by promoting and providing education regarding the various programs and services offered through MYCHN and its staff. The Outreach Coordinator will also collaborate with other social service agencies, education institutions, Chambers of Commerce, and other organizations to promote services. This is a team-based position that reaches into the community through local venues (small businesses, community groups, religious gatherings, etc.). Position will be well informed on enrollment and eligibility for family planning, Healthy Texas Women and Texas Medicaid.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with partner agencies, education institutions and other private sector agencies on outreach activities, community education and eligibility and enrollment assistance for services
- Provides culturally and age-appropriate education regarding family planning and associated matters
- Coordinate outreach and enrollment efforts and events by working collaboratively with community partner organizations, local churches, businesses and other community entities and venues
- Participates at various in-reach, outreach, community events and other duties as directed
- Provide education and information to families about use of health or program plan benefits and access to services
- Assist in the various fundraising activities MYCHN has
- Responsible for tracking outreach activities for Outreach and Enrollment Specialists including KPI’s and goals
- Maintain the monthly and quarterly calendar for outreach
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Possess the ability to integrate respectfully with families and persons from diverse cultures and income levels
- Pass a criminal record clearance
- Valid Driver’s License and properly insured reliable vehicle for use on the job
- Excellence in verbal, written, and communication skills
- Proficiency in basic mathematics and analytical comprehension
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work independently on individual and assigned tasks while exhibiting good judgment
- This position may be required to drive the company vehicle (as needed) and must possess a valid driver’s license, have current auto insurance coverage, and meet the organization’s auto insurance standards.
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Spanish
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Military background a plus
