The position of Intern will provide real world construction management experience. This experience will provide an opportunity to learn first-hand the world of general contracting.
Essential Functions:
Field
- Assists with Daily Reports including : Sub Progress, Sub Issues and overall job progress.
- Assists with inventory control including maintaining and updating site inventory catalog.
- Familiarize and gain understanding of plans and specs to understand job progression.
- Assist and monitor job site general housekeeping and project cleanliness
- Exposed to Safety standards:
- Familiarize with OSHA requirements
- Familiarize with MYCON safety requirements
- Familiarize with Lock Out/Tag Out
- Familiarize with Fall Protection
- Familiarize with Tech Safety
- Exposure and understanding of SWPPP including state and city SWPPP requirements
Project Management
- Develop an understanding of project schedule logic and assist in project updating .
- Contracts (Owner and subcontractor) : become familiar with with contract structure and language.
- Assist with and update RFI Logs
- Assists with update submittal logs
- Learn to read and track a project budget
- Become familiar with ProCore and other project software as needed.
Estimating (as applicable)
- Project bidding to include: transmission of addenda, revisions and changes to potential subcontractors, incorporate changes into plan set and specs, and familiarize with the FRI process for bidding projects.
- Bid Prep: organize scopes of work and obtain bids from subcontractors
- Project Quantification: learn how to conduct plan review and plan takeoffs.
- Become familiar with estimating software.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Required education and skills needed but not limited to the following:
- Currently enrolled in a construction management degree program preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Highly developed communication skills (listening, influence management, consensus development) paired with outstanding presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build successful and lasting relationships with team members, architects, owners, subcontractors, and municipalities.
- Strong analytical and logic skills with the ability to maintain a high degree of precision on detailed work.
- High energy and self-motivated with a sense of urgency to complete assigned tasks.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, consistently meeting or beating deadlines.

The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
