What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Myers & Co.?
The Controller is responsible for managing the financial administration of the business including but not limited to
- Completing month end accounting close.
- Ensuring proper reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Preparing financial reports and analysis.
- Developing periodic forecasts and annual budget.
- Responsible for plant financial team.
- Coordinating and completing tax filings.
- Overseeing payroll functions.
The position reports to the General Manager/President of the business.
Qualifications:
- BA or BS in Accounting
- CPA designation preferred
- Five (5) years of experience with recognized public accounting firm or ten (10) years of industry experience (in an accounting role)
- Supervisory and management experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- ERP system experience (SAP, Hyperion, Oracle, etc.)
- Product costing, general ledger, inventory and asset accounting and financial controls
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Strong communication skills
- Proactive problem-solving orientation
