The position is located at Myers Controlled Power factory in Canton, Ohio.
Job Position description:
We are looking for a competent Electrical / Electronic Production Technician to perform all aspects of quality verification including electrical controls testing in a production environment. The goal is to ensure customer satisfaction and retention as well as increases profitability.
The successful candidate:
· Understands and adheres to company safety policies and procedures.
· Will work with typical ladder logic and relay control schematics.
· Will perform all quality tests and electrical verifications for industrial type electrical equipment including completion of accurate test records.
· Can verify BOMs, Mechanical Drawings, Interlock Systems, Electrical Controls and identify quality defects.
· Operates various power supplies from 125 VDC to 1000 VAC and current generators up to 30,000 amps.
· Routinely tests CTs (current transformers), PTs (potential transformers), Shunts and various Transducers.
· Diagnoses errors or technical problems while determining proper solutions.
o Understanding of basic electrical theory.
o Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
o Trouble-shooting skills needed to identify and resolve wiring and component application problems in switchgear equipment.
· Uses and operates various types of testing equipment required to perform the tasks of a test technician.
· Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%.
· Experience testing in a Power Substation environment is a plus.
o Specific tests include: Dielectric Testing (HiPot 80 KV), CT / PT / Shunt Verification, Transformer Testing. Typical system voltages range from 5 – 38 KVAC and 600 to 1600 VDC.
Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years technical degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of field service testing experience is a plus
- Experience with switchgear application is a plus
- Familiar with test requirements defined per ANSI C37.20 is a plus
- Basic level computer skills MS Office products.
