The MyFitnessPal Business Intelligence (aka Data & Analytics) team is responsible for applying data and analytics to drive business growth and profitability across the organization. It is broadly responsible for creating growth through i) improving the customer’s digital experience (ie, product), ii) marketing efficiency, customer acquisition and customer retention, and iii) providing reporting and other tools to increase the application of data-driven decision-making across the entire organization.
We are seeking a Director, Product Analytics to use data and insights to make the customer experience the best it can be. In this role you’ll lead a team of analysts and data scientists to identify opportunities and enhance the digital product through the full suite of analytics and data science tools. As the leader of this team, you will partner closely with the Chief Product Officer to help shape our product strategy through data-driven decision-making. You will report to the VP of Analytics who leads all analytics and business intelligence for the company.
What you’ll be doing:
- Partnership: develop a trusted advisor relationship with the Chief Product Officer and their staff–various heads responsible for the entire customer experience; be a key member of the product leadership team responsible for helping drive strategy and execution, data-driven insights and reporting and experimentation tools
- Analytics: conduct in-depth analysis of product data to derive actionable insights and inform tactical and strategic decisions of the product; serve as a subject matter expert and as a vocal thought leader in the product and analytics domain
- Team Leadership: lead and mentor a team of analysts and data scientists, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring a clear alignment with business objectives; take a consultative and hands-on approach to enable both analytics and product teams; help build and execute a compelling, high-quality roadmap with a sense of urgency
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: work closely with product managers, engineers, designers, and data platform teams to integrate data-driven insights into the product development process
- Strategic Planning: develop and communicate product goals, strategies, and key performance metrics in collaboration with other departments; support product/feature level experimentation that enables cross-functional teams to carry out properly designed and instrumented experiments and measurements
- Stakeholder Engagement: interface with top executives and stakeholders to present findings with compelling data narratives and drive data-informed decisions
- Tool and Platform Advancement: advance analytic reporting and experimentation tools to better support product and customer experience initiatives
- Metrics/Reporting: define and enhance key product metrics for the business; design underlying data structures to support; and develop reporting and dashboards that measure performance and productionalize operations insights

Qualifications to be Successful in This Role:
- Analytics: 10 years as a business analyst, with 5 years in product analytics, preferably with mobile apps
- Leadership: 5 years leading analytics teams, with 3 years leading product analytics teams specifically. Demonstrated skills in leading both individual contributors and people managers; success in hiring, developing and retaining top talent
- Toolkit: proficiency in modern data analysis tools and programming languages including SQL and Python; extensive experience with A/B testing and A/B testing platforms; proficiency with BI and reporting platforms
- Synthesis: ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations, strategic product roadmaps, and feature-level optimization that drive customer engagement and retention
- Communications: excellent verbal and written communication skills in presenting insights to stakeholders including your CPO business partner, other company executives, and senior leaders across the company
- Bias for Action: ability to identify issues and recommend solutions to improve product performance and strategy; exceptional ability to balance need to dive deep with speed to market of insights
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as statistics, computer science or mathematics. Advanced degrees preferred

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at MyFitnessPal ranges from $180,000 - $230,000. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, MyFitnessPal offers a wide range of comprehensive and inclusive employee benefits for this role including healthcare, parental planning, mental health benefits, annual performance bonus, a 401(k) plan and match, responsible time off, monthly wellness and technology allowances, and others.
