Position Summary

The Operations Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth workflows, resource optimization, and operational excellence. You will supervise cross-functional teams, implement processes, develop KPIs for each department, and ensure hands-on execution of tasks to achieve company goals. The ideal candidate is a proactive, results-driven professional who thrives in a dynamic start-up environment and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Management: Supervise daily operations across departments (lab, logistics, facilities, customer support, and administration) to ensure smooth workflows and efficiency.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze and improve existing processes to increase productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Resource Management: Supervise the effective allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and supplies.
  • Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams by example, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
  • KPI Development: Develop, implement, and track KPIs for each department to measure and improve operational performance.
  • Hands-On Execution: Take a proactive and hands-on approach to ensure tasks and initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Logistics & Supply Chain: Manage inventory, procurement, vendor relationships, and delivery schedules to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
  • Performance Metrics: Identify bottlenecks, implement solutions, and drive continuous improvement based on operational performance.
  • Facility Management: Ensure the facility remains safe, well-maintained, and compliant with health and safety standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with leadership, finance, HR, and other departments to align operations with company objectives.
  • Reporting: Generate and present reports to leadership regarding operational performance, opportunities, and challenges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in operations management, preferably within technical, scientific, manufacturing, or similarly regulated environments.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Proven experience in process improvement, logistics, and resource management.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong reporting skills, with the ability to analyze data and create actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based collaboration tools and CRM platforms such as Google Workspace and HubSpot.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment.
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to execute tasks, not just delegate.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards for laboratory operations is a plus.
