Business Development is a global team. We work across client segments and lines of business to increase business origination and enhance client dialogues through understanding client needs – especially with respect to corporate finance, financial markets, investor, and regulator demands.
The Business Development team identifies client needs and applicable reinsurance opportunities and assess their impact on client financial performance. The team is collaborative and made up of creative, inquisitive, and engaging people who seek opportunity, explore possibilities, and bring them to commercial realization.
About You
For Armonk, NY, the estimated base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $269,000. The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.

- Develop and promote the value proposition of reinsurance as a pro-active element within clients' strategic and corporate finance toolkit
- Analyze clients' valuation, investor expectations, capital flexibility, and other financial and strategic measures and engage with them on how reinsurance can enhance those metrics
- Actively participate on selected Client Engagement Teams with a focus on opportunity identification and development
- Interface regularly with underwriting colleagues to understand Swiss Re's view of and appetite for different risks and identify changes in client needs
- Contribute within the global P&C Business Development community, sharing ideas, and leveraging our global presence

- In depth knowledge of corporate finance, solvency and ratings capital models, and P&C insurance company valuation drivers – 3-5 years
- You bring in experience and knowledge of the primary P&C insurance market, trends, and products – nice to have
- Ability to prioritize and apply sound commercial judgment, navigate ambiguity, self-motivate, work with agility across multifaceted clients, markets, and risks, and pro-actively generate ideas and opportunities for client engagement
- Strong communicator, particularly with an aptitude for sales
