Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CAD Tools Developer to join our Amazon Kuiper Engineering Team. In this role, you will oversee our CAD tools, primarily focusing on Siemens NX, and develop custom features and integrations to enhance our engineering capabilities.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. - Develop custom features and applications using NX Open and other relevant programming interfaces to streamline design processes and improve productivity.
- Create and maintain integrations between Siemens NX and other enterprise software systems and engineering tools used within Amazon Kuiper.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement in CAD workflows and implement solutions.
- Provide technical support and training to engineers and designers on CAD tools and custom applications.
- Stay current with the latest developments in CAD technology and industry best practices, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.
- Develop and maintain documentation for custom tools and processes.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of new CAD-related technologies and tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- 3 years experience in CAD software development, with a strong focus on Siemens NX
- Extensive experience with NX Open and other relevant programming interfaces
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C , C#, and Python
- Strong understanding of 3D modeling, engineering drawings, and product lifecycle management (PLM) concepts
- Experience integrating CAD systems with other enterprise software (e.g., PLM, ERP, simulation tools)
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Experience with aerospace or satellite design engineering
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS)
- Experience with version control systems and software development best practices
