Your role and responsibilities
The IS Applications Specialist delivers essential IT technical support to the ABB Westville plant and its staff. Their responsibilities include diagnosing, documenting, and resolving technical issues to ensure the smooth operation of networks, systems, hardware, software, and peripherals. The IS Application Specialist will work daily with different end users of all types of functions and departments at ABB Westville. The work model for the role is: Onsite. This role is contributing to the NEMA Motors Division in Westville, OK. You will be mainly accountable for:
- Configure and deploy desktops, laptops, tablets, and peripherals, manage network equipment, virtual & physical servers, and data backups.
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, network systems and ERP System. Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance on improvement initiatives and creation of technical documentation and leading user training.
- Advise on software and hardware upgrades for business continuity to enhance the employee experience and coordinate the installation and optimization of third-party tools.
- Provide exceptional customer service by actively listening to employee needs, resolving issues efficiently, and ensuring a positive experience.
- Supervise and mentor the IT assistant.
- 1 years of experience supporting and troubleshooting systems, applications, software and hardware.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to work with end users and resolve problems.
- Demonstrated flexibility, motivation, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical thinking with a deep understanding of servers, networks, and applications.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
- Preferred experiences:
- Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP System
- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or related field.
