High technology product development organization in the Los Angeles area is looking for an experienced Business Development leader. The ideal candidate has proven success in year-over-year sales growth strategies in new product development engineering contracts. Primary Responsibilities: • Lead business development team to execute strategic sales plans and monitor performance. • Direct client consultation to identify project requirements and perimeters. • Prepare sales contracts, quotes, and ROMS (Rough Order of Magnitude) that adhere to law established rules and guidelines supported by legal groups, operations, and business development. • Work with the engineering team and project managers to provide all needed research data for a project from beginning to end. • Define, develop, and implement a business development sales growth strategy that is focused on revenue growth, expanding market, and customer satisfaction. • Focus on business relationships, retaining/developing customer loyalty, and brand awareness with existing and potential customers. Increase the value of current customers while attracting new ones. • Apply knowledge of the industry, market landscape, technology, product, and processes to educate prospects and clients on the business value of our offerings and services. • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs. Market Share and Market Penetration. • Attends conferences, meetings, and industry events promoting brand awareness and services, increasing sales and territory. • Provide regular updates and feedback to key stakeholders on the execution of the strategy. • Work alongside the Marketing department on sales goals, projections, and market trends. • Effectively maintain sales pipeline data and activity reports, providing management with accurate sales forecasts in CRM. • Manage and coordinate the full pipeline lifecycle from lead identification, qualification, project scoping, contract negotiation, and writing in a high-volume environment with quick turnaround times.
Experience & Competencies: • BA in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field • 7 years of Experience with product development lifecycle from lead identification, qualification, project scoping, contract negotiation, and writing contracts. • 5 years of experience in Electronics, Robotics, Agriculture Technology, Industrial Automation or Automotive Aviation industry or related field of expertise • Understanding of hardware product development, and integration of major engineering components into a cohesive product. i.e., Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, software development, Industrial design. • Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Possess expertise in selling strategies and methodologies, strategic planning and execution, and employee motivation techniques. • Ability to travel nationally and internationally as required.
