Responsibilities :
- Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) Intermediate-Level (I-Level) Systems Engineer.
Clearances, Skills and Knowledge Requirements :
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS : Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.Resolve site trouble tickets that that O-Level operators or maintainers are unable to resolveProvide on-the-job training to O-Level operators and maintainers, as needed, to make them more capable and independentPerform proactive system checks to both identify issues before they become problems, and to discover existing problems that do not have automated detection mechanismsWork directly with development engineers (i.e. D-Level) to collect data logs, equipment configuration, etc., in support of resolving issues that have been escalated to D-Level subject matter experts for resolutionIdentify key MUOS deficiencies and help influence the prioritization of development tasks required to address important site issuesProvide daily written site status reportsSupport 24 / 7 site operations, including on call support as requiredMUOS specific knowledge / experience (Preferred but not required) :
MUOS system architecture and subsystem connectionsMUOS ground infrastructure and networking equipmentMUOS RF subsystems theory of operationMUOS WCDMA call processing concepts. Knowledge of the MUOS Ericsson Radio Access Network (RAN) solution is a plus (e.g. RBS, RNC, OSS-RC, moshell)MUOS network management solutions (i.e. FCAPS : (F)ault management, (C)onfiguration management, (A)ccounting management, (P)erformance management, (S)ecurity management)MUOS backup / archive, planning / provisioning, key management system, and Over the Air Provisioning (OTAP) operationsMUOS Situational Awareness (SA) solutions (e.g. Netcool, NetMAC, Splunk, SIEM, etc.)Operation and use of MUOS Functional Terminals (MFTs), i.e. Radios. Knowledge of the MUOS Waveform is a plusUse of ITSM and Remedy incident trouble ticket systemsMinimum Qualifications :
