We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in basic accounting principles and strong data entry skills to ensure accurate and timely record-keeping. This role is critical in supporting the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain Financial Records: Accurately record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile Accounts: Perform monthly bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and ensure all accounts are balanced.
- Data Entry: Input financial data with precision and speed into accounting software and other record-keeping systems.
- Monitor Invoices: Will be responsible for collection calls to our clients and accounting contacts.
- Operational Support: Assist with data entry in various operational service systems such as benefits administration systems and other HR service systems. Also assisting with creating spreadsheets in Excel.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of bookkeeping or related accounting experience.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or certification in accounting is preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping is a must.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain organized records.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and vendors professionally.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve them effectively.
- Phone Skills: Must be able to communicate professionally with clients and others.
