About the Position: MyLand is an innovative Agro-Tech company leading the field of remote algae cultivation and natural soil augmentation solutions. We are seeking a skilled, self-motivated Lab Technician to enhance the company’s laboratory production and research programs. The Lab Technician will work to support the laboratory by preparing and cleaning all materials needed for axenic culturing of algae.
Education and Experience:
- High school or GED required
- A basic knowledge of Laboratory environment
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Clean and QC all algae culturing materials and sterilize all essential laboratory equipment via autoclave
- Prepare culture media, stock solutions, agar plates, calibration solutions and take samples
- Monitor laboratory consumable and chemical inventory
- Assist with maintain axenic production and research related cultures
- Troubleshoot equipment and process problems
- Assist in preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment and maintain detailed QA/QC documents and laboratory notebooks
- Prepare samples for transport according to established protocols
Physical Demands
- Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
- Able to lift 50 pounds consistently
- Able to work in varied weather conditions (indoor and outdoor)
- Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, viewing a computer screen, microscope, and extensive reading
- Exposure to chemicals typically used to culture algae

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
