Position Summary
Patient Coordinator is responsible helping patients understand different treatment options and strategically following up with patients. Patient Coordinator will also be responsible for taking patient records, scheduling and contracts, and handling paper flow and communication with patients and with referring dentists.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility prior to appointment.
- Follow up on missed appointments.
- Explain treatment plans and patient contracts.
- Take records (x-ray, iTero scans, and photos)
- Coordinate with Treatment Coordinator to keep pretreatment recall and retention systems current.
- Coordinate with Treatment Coordinator to identify patients beyond their estimated treatment times.
- Ensure Ortho patients are compliant with appointments and send the appropriate communication leading up to or including termination.
- Send necessary letters and communication pertaining to patient treatment (i.e., initial letters, Medicaid treatment consideration letters, clearance letters, progress letters, bonding and debond letters, etc)
- Assist with maintaining spreadsheets or databases for tracking purposes, as needed, or directed by Practice Administrator
- Ensure all patient records are updated at the end of the day.
