About the Fleet Mechanic III Role
We are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic III to join our team at MYR Group. As a key member of our Fleet Department, you will have the opportunity to improve and challenge yourself every day.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor equipment repairs safely and professionally. They will use their skills and experience to make decisions requiring the application of procedures and practices to specific work situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a full range of servicing and repairs on various types of equipment, including malfunctioning parts and systems, in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and company schedules.
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Identify mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment.
- Maintain records of time and materials used on each job, the condition of the equipment, and the repairs performed.
- Track information in computer software; conduct safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation.
- Participate in training programs; keep current with hazardous material training requirements.
Requirements:
- A minimum of four years of experience in vehicle and equipment repair, or five years of experience in general heavy truck repair, automotive repair, or equipment repair.
- A completed vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in vehicle and equipment repair.
- Capability of operating company vehicles and equipment on a daily basis.
- Basic computer or data entry skills.
- Experience using mechanical tools, materials, and testing equipment.
- Working knowledge of design, adjustment, operation, maintenance, and repair of vehicles and equipment.
