What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Data Specialist (Remote) position at Myriad Genetics?
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of Offered Myriad Genetic Tests
- An understanding of the tests offered at Myriad Genetics.
- Experience in medical terminology and patient clinical histories that are appropriate for each test.
- Ability to help answer questions about the tests within the company.
- Verify Quality and Accuracy of Patient Test Reports
- Ensure that the appropriate testing was performed as requested by the health care provider
- Review patient charts and results for accuracy
- Detailed review of all elements of a laboratory report. This requires understanding of the current processes at Myriad and patient's clinical histories that may contribute to a patient's result and being able to trouble shoot effectively
- Confirm that the best possible patient care was given to each patient prior to sending out a report to their health care provider
- Communication Skills:
- Contact health care providers to clarify and resolve any issues prior to test release
- Respond to health care providers inquiries in a timely, expert, and effective fashion.
- Communication with internal Lab Directors and Genetic Counselors
- Maintain productive and collegial relationships with other Myriad departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science OR
- Bachelor's degree in a non-science but including the following:
- 16 semester hours of chemistry (at least 6 semester hours of inorganic chemistry)
- 16 semester hours of biology
- 3 semester hours of math
- 1-year experience preferably in a healthcare or laboratory setting
- HIPPA compliant
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365- Word and Excel
- Excellent communication (written and oral) skills
- Detail oriented
