The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving coffee and other beverages according to company specifications for guests at the café. This position helps guests be aware of and choose menu items, takes orders, and makes guests feel taken care of during their visit/experience. Front-of-house staff is friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and works in a professional manner resulting in a very high level of guest satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Welcoming guests, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preference, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.
• Demonstrate genuine hospitality during every interaction with our guests; including greeting guests, taking food and beverage orders, answering questions, thanking guests, and inviting them to return upon their departure.
• Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
• Attend pre-shift meeting to review/communicate information regarding service, VIPs, and Specials.
• Handling cash and credit card transactions.
• Maintaining a clean working environment, cleaning counters, tables, dishware, and equipment.
• Record orders accurately into POS system.
• Prepare the station before and during service and all complete other preparation tasks instructed by FOH Manager or General Manager.
• Respond promptly to guest requests in a polite and professional manner.
• Answer guest questions about food and beverage preparation details and accommodate specific guest needs.
• Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or instructed by management.
• Consistent productivity
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma
• 1 years of experience in high volume coffee/café setting.
• product knowledge to include but not be limited to familiarity with dairy and non-dairy food sources; correct temperatures for espresso and drip coffee products.
• ServSafe or complementary certification.
• Ability to take orders while maintaining cleanliness and timely execution of drink orders.
• Available for work hours to begin in early morning (6am-7am)
