**Job Overview:** We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care while assisting medical professionals in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical setting, and we are looking for someone who is dedicated to delivering high-quality care to our patients. **Responsibilities:** - Provide administrative support to the medical team, including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and preparing patient charts. - Assist healthcare providers with patient exams, taking vital signs, and performing basic medical procedures. - Prepare patients for procedures and exams, including obtaining medical histories and administering medications. - Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations. - Participate in the management of emergency situations, such as CPR or trauma cases, and provide first aid as needed. - Conduct basic life support techniques, including defibrillation and oxygen therapy. - Assist in the surgical suite as needed, including preparing patients for surgery and maintaining a clean and organized OR environment. - Collaborate with internal medicine and urgent care providers to ensure patients receive timely and effective treatment. - Familiarize yourself with coding systems and assist with billing and insurance claims as needed. - Demonstrate a strong understanding of human physiology and the ability to apply this knowledge in a clinical setting. **Skills:** - Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center or emergency medicine setting. - Strong knowledge of dermatology and the ability to assist with skin-related procedures. - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. - Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMRs) and practice management systems. - Experience in urgent care or internal medicine settings. - Familiarity with coding systems, including ICD-10 and CPT. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. - Ability to maintain a calm and organized demeanor in high-pressure situations. - Commitment to delivering patient-centered care and upholding the highest standards of medical ethics.
