Senior Project Scheduler – Data Analytics (W2 Only)
Contract | Remote (CST) | 25% Travel to Springfield, IL
Clover Consulting, a Myticas Company, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Scheduler for a remote contract role supporting an Enterprise Data Warehouse Analytics project in the Healthcare/Medicaid industry. The ideal candidate will stay up to date with industry trends, developments, and best practices to provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership.
This role requires 25% travel to Springfield, IL for onsite customer meetings.
Position Overview
The Senior Project Scheduler will be responsible for developing and managing complex, integrated project schedules across Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies. This role requires close collaboration with project implementation teams, external partners, business stakeholders, and customers to ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Schedule Management
- Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project (MPP).
- Perform critical path analysis, resource leveling, and milestone tracking.
- Ensure compliance with federal project scheduling standards and validate schedules for common errors.
- Align schedules with the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
2. Stakeholder Communication & Issue Resolution
- Foster strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders.
- Lead recurring status meetings, address inquiries, and proactively manage issues.
- Provide clear and concise project updates to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrate strong ownership, communication, and presentation skills.
3. Resource & Task Management
- Configure and manage project calendars, dependencies, and resource allocations.
- Track cross-functional task linkages and interdependencies.
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, focusing on provider demographics and capital projects.
4. Project Documentation & Analysis
- Maintain and update project budgets, forecasts, documentation, business workflows, and lessons learned.
- Conduct needs assessments and cost-benefit analyses to support project objectives.
5. Process Improvement & Knowledge Sharing
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and increased efficiency.
- Provide training and knowledge-sharing sessions for colleagues and business partners.
6. Project Management Support
- Assist in managing Issues, Risks, Action Items, and Decisions (IRAD logs).
- Perform peer reviews to ensure high-quality project documentation and artifacts.
7. Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Analysis
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, testers, SMEs, architects, and admins to define project requirements and solutions.
8. Compliance & Standards Adherence
- Ensure alignment with PMO guidelines, policies, and industry best practices.
9. Resource Allocation & Tracking
- Coordinate with project managers to allocate resources efficiently, track progress, and manage interdependencies.
10. Reporting & Status Updates
- Provide weekly project status reports outlining schedule progress, risks/issues, changes, and mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as a Microsoft Project (MPP) Scheduler, managing multiple project schedules.
- 5 years of IT Project Management experience.
- 3 years of experience working with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- 2 years of experience managing project schedules for Design, Development, and Implementation (DDI) projects.
- Ability to travel up to 25% to Springfield, IL.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PMP-SP (Scheduling Professional) Certification.
- Experience with project management tools such as DevOps, JIRA, SharePoint/Teams, and SSI Tools.
- Background in Medicaid, MMIS, Data Warehousing, Reporting, and Analytics projects.
- Development experience in ETL, Data, or BI Reporting/Analytics software.
- 3 years of experience in data gathering, analysis, and writing system requirements.
- Experience facilitating Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions.
- Knowledge of Healthcare Information Exchange (HIE), EDI, and healthcare industry standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Visio.
