The Lead Compensation Analyst conducts strategic analysis to provide consultative planning, project management, and senior analytical support for our business. This individual will integrate compensation within overall People strategies to attract and retain a highly skilled workforce. The Lead Compensation Analyst will participate in the design, management, compliance, and administration of compensation programs and activities, including base salary, incentive plans, and executive and equity compensation.

The Lead Compensation Analyst conducts strategic analysis to provide consultative planning, project management, and senior analytical support for our business. This individual will integrate compensation within overall People strategies to attract and retain a highly skilled workforce. The Lead Compensation Analyst will participate in the design, management, compliance, and administration of compensation programs and activities, including base salary, incentive plans, and executive and equity compensation.
What You'll Do
- Is a specialist in an identified compensation field and assists in creating a major component of the N-able compensation strategy and philosophy that drives the development and positioning of our compensation and equity programs.
- Develop cost and forecast models for plan design recommendations for a variety of global compensation programs, budgets, and tools, including, but not limited to, base pay structures, retention, annual merit programs, and short and long-term incentive plans.
- Develop and analyze global base pay market positioning and salary ranges to ensure market competitiveness and support of overall compensation strategy.
- Monitor the company’s stock plan budgets including grants of restricted stock units (RSUs) and provide detailed reports to Senior Management.
- Stay updated on changes in compensation and stock plan regulations and best practices.
- Draft and oversee the execution of project plans and initiatives in support of new compensation initiatives to ensure successful execution and timely completion, which includes comprehensive change management.
- Develop and deliver global compensation training and communication for leaders and employees.
- Provide recommendations for the development of new plans or modifications to existing programs, administrative policies, and practices to optimally support client and business objectives.
- Contribute to the development, design, and maintenance of the job description and evaluation process including career pathing.
- Participate in internal audits and assist with pulling documentation and information from the HRIS system.
- Use analytics to monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation plans, policies, and administrative procedures.
- Engage leadership and People Business Partners to review proposed designs on global compensation philosophy, pay-for-performance programs, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with People Business Partners to research internal client compensation issues and respond to requests in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the People organization and business leadership on a variety of projects including business strategy, salary structures, incentive compensation, equity and integration of mergers and acquisitions.
- Provide guidance and direction on complex policy interpretations.
- Provide mentorship, work review, and guidance to junior compensation team members.
- Develop compensation tools to streamline processes and incorporate efficiencies.
- Model Equity Incentive Plan budgets.
- Support or lead the annual salary planning and focal promotion processes with business and People team.
- Partner with People Insights and Technology group to build new reports and dashboards to improve data analytics for key stakeholders.
- Ability to drive process improvements
- Strong organizational, time management, and project leadership skills
- Initiative-taker with ability to work independently and proactively
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort with formulas of increasing complexity, working with large data sets, and pivot tables
- Ability to prioritize and work on multiple requests
- Demonstrated extensive and comprehensive knowledge of complex compensation processes and practices
- Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience with equity compensation in public companies.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in developing and implementing compensation programs for global client groups; strong understanding how they and other initiatives may impact various areas of the People organization
- Solid written and verbal communication relationship building skills; enjoys working with highly collaborative teams
- Compensation Professional (CCP) Certification a plus
- 8 years of compensation experience; experience in high tech Software/SaaS companies a plus
- Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Demonstrated advanced mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills to conduct complex analyses and develop data-based recommendations
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's degree preferred
