Software Developer- COBOL IT COMPILER

ob Description –

We are looking for an Engineer with a background ideally in Savings and Payments related systems with a strong technical skillset, curious mindset and desire to learn.

You’ll have the opportunity to –

• Develop, document, and test software and configuration, ensuring they adhere to development standards and meet business requirements. You’ll be technically competent and experienced in applicable technologies and platforms
• Maintain systems by analysing programs to diagnose and resolve live defects/ incidents
• Participate in peer reviews of documentation, code, unit, and integration testing
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, and product owners to transform business requirements into technical change, including performing impact analysis
• Continually update technical knowledge and skills using internal training as well taking time to self-develop
• Perform impact analysis and estimation on requirements and designs
• Ensure that system design meets the standard for architecture, scalability, performance, security and maintainability

 You will have -

• Knowledge of one or more of the core technologies which form the basis of YBS’s Savings and Finance landscape, including:
• Cobol ideally using a COBOL IT compiler, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Forms and Perforce.
• Strong documentation skills for granular level understanding of the processing in some key database packages and Cobol modules.
• Ability to interpret complex information to develop solutions that meet the required business outcomes
• Great communicator finding ways for non-technical people to understand technical concepts
• Experience delivering software change within Financial Services and an awareness of operating in a highly regulated environment

Desirable skills -

• Knowledge, understanding and experience of developing software in a DevOps delivery methodology setting.

Salary : $280 - $300
